The Meyersdale Area Ministerial Association is working with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the Feeding America program to offer a free summer lunch program.
These free lunches are available to anyone 18 years of age or under (resident of the community or visitor) and will be offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon to 1 p.m. June 6 through Aug. 29. Organizers encourage young people to share in this new program. In addition to a nutritious meal, games and activities will be offered.
The meals will be prepared and served at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, 355 Center St., Meyersdale. Lunches will also be distributed at Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. 605 Center St., Garrett, and St. John's Lutheran Church, 104 Union St., Salisbury.
There are no income guidelines or special qualifications to share in this program.
A meeting will be held at 7 p.m. May 9 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church's fellowship hall to discuss the program and answer any questions. People who would like to volunteer are encouraged to attend the meeting.
