Andrew "Andy" Worth Kinzer, 97, of Washington, D.C.
Andrew "Andy" Worth Kinzer, 97, passed away April 12, 2012, at the Goodwin House in Falls Church, Va. He was born Oct. 24, 1914, in Jenkins, Ky., son of Andrew W. Kinzer and Susan Heffley Kinzer. He attended Central High School, Washington, D.C., Cambria-Rowe Business College, Johnstown, Benjamin Franklin University, and the American University in Washington, D.C. He served his country during World War II and was employed by the Consolidation Coal Co., Jenkins, Ky., Capital Airlines, Washington, D.C., and the Washington Star where he retired in 1979 as administrative assistant to the controller. His favorite pastimes included hiking and traveling. Andy was a lifelong Methodist and attended Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his only sister, Janice Kinzer Farling. He is survived by a favorite cousin, Ruth Kinzer Hamilton, Melbourne, Fla., her family and the families of her pre-deceased siblings, Julia (Kinzer) Tubbs, Alice (Kinzer) Groves and John Marvin Kinzer. A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Front Royal, Va., conducted by the Rev. Jim Tubbs. Arrangements are by Maddox Funeral Home Inc.
