The following were taken from police reports:
•The lock on a gray, Raleigh C40 mountain racing bike valued at $800 was cut at the bike rack at the train depot, 45 W. Northwest Highway, but the bike was placed on the ground and not immediately removed, yet was apparently stolen later and reported missing July 21.
•A white beaded purse valued at $45 and a Pioneer stereo faceplate were stolen from an unlocked green, 2001 Subaru Legacy between 9 p.m. July 20 and 1:20 a.m. July 21 while the car was parked at European Crystal, 519 E. Algonquin Road.
•An unlocked blue, customized Schwinn Traveler bike valued at $150 was reported stolen July 19 from the back yard of a home in the 900 block of North Dunton Avenue.
•A customer of Happiness is Pets, 15 W. Golf Road, reportedly placed a white English bulldog puppy valued at $3,200 into a backpack and left the store without paying at 12:15 p.m. July 13.
•A backpack containing a Dell laptop computer valued at $300 was reported stolen between July 12 at 7:30 p.m. and July 13 at 5 a.m. from an unlocked white 1993 Buick Regal Gran Sport parked in a driveway on the 500 block of South Dwyer Avenue.
•A Great Dane trailer containing 820 tires valued at approximately $15,000 was reported removed from a 1999 Volvo tractor truck between July 12 at 10:30 p.m. and July 13 at 5:45 p.m. while it was parked in a lot in the 3300 block of Kennicott Avenue. The steering column was damaged when the truck was moved in the lot.
•Approximately $2,225 worth of copper wire, fittings and HVAC materials, an Eagle depth finder valued at $200, two speaker boxes valued at $150 each, rigid rodders valued at $210 and a Giant aluminum ladder were reported stolen after an access door was forced open in a detached apartment complex garage in the 1100 block of East Northwest Highway sometime between June 24 and July 13.
•A black and purple K2 Astro unlocked bicycle valued at $200 with an attached black canvas bag containing keys, identification and a black, Kyocera cell phone valued at $90 were reported stolen July 11 between 12:15 and 12:30 p.m. at the train depot, 45 W. Northwest Highway.
•The owner of a 2009 Toyota Corolla reported Super Glue was squirted on the windshield, causing $400 in damage twice between July 5 and 17 while it was parked in an apartment parking lot in the 500 block of South Cleveland Avenue.
•The owner of a blue 2006 Honda Odyssey reported July 12 that the passenger side view mirror was broken off and the passenger side door scratched, causing $500 in damage while it was parked in front of the Arlington Heights Memorial Library, 500 N. Dunton Ave.
•The owner of a blue 2007 Chrysler Crossfire reported July 14 that it was scratched all over while parked at Mr. A's restaurant, 1711 E. Central Road.
•A hammer may have been used July 11 to put 13 smaller holes and one large 18-by-8-inch hole into a plaster wall, causing an estimated $500 in damage at Burlington Coat Factory, 30 W. Rand Road.
•A red and black jester was spray-painted on the sidewalk across the street from 19 S. Dunton Ave. and discovered at 2 p.m. July 16.
•A brown, pitching box square to throw baseballs was spray-painted onto the south wall of the Arlington Heights Fire Department Training Center, 3720 N. Kennicott Ave., sometime between 4 p.m. July 15 and 9 a.m. July 18. Damage was estimated at $100.
