The following items were taken from Oak Park and River Forest police reports.
A 16-year-old girl was charged with aggravated battery to a police officer and criminal damage to state-supported property after she struck the head of an officer who intervened in a domestic dispute she was having with her mother on the 1200 block of North Lombard Avenue at 4:03 p.m. Aug. 6, then kicked the rear window of the squad car in which she was placed. She was referred to juvenile court.
A 16-year-old Berwyn boy was charged with battery Aug. 6 for an incident involving a Forest Park resident Aug. 1 on the 100 block of South Kenilworth Avenue.
A man about 20 with a slight build tried to steal an Apple iPhone out of the hand of an Oak Park man who was walking west on the 1000 block of Thomas Street at 7:50 p.m. Aug. 6. The man fled north on Forest Avenue.
A thin man about 20 approached a 28-year-old Oak Park woman from the front on the 900 block of North Boulevard at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 5, grabbed her purse off her shoulder and ran north in a parking lot toward Lake Street. His jacket was found on Kenilworth Avenue and her purse was found in a parking lot, but an Apple iPhone worth $700 was missing.
A 49-year-old man who lives on the 200 block of South Marion Street was found dead in his room at 10:13 a.m. Aug. 2. The cause is not suspicious.
A 46-year-old man living on the 400 block of South Boulevard was charged Aug. 4 with aggravated battery of a child and aggravated domestic battery after a July 8 incident on his block involving an 8-year-old girl.
A Forest Park resident was punched in the nose and fell backward after he confronted a male at 10 p.m. Aug. 1 on the 100 block of South Kenilworth Avenue sitting on his bicycle, which had been stolen that day, and asked for it back. That male and seven others fled on foot in multiple directions.
A 22-year-old woman living on the 400 block of North Humphrey Avenue was charged with domestic battery after she hit her 24-year-old husband with a telephone cord, causing a small cut to the back of his head, at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 2 during a quarrel over his Facebook page content.
A 36-year-old Chicago man was charged with possession of cannabis after police found he had 1.3 grams of marijuana on him when they stopped him at 8:40 a.m. Aug. 4 for riding his bicycle on the sidewalk on the 800 block of Lake Street. He also was wanted on a warrant for a parole violation.
A 52-year-old Chicago man was charged with violating an order of protection after he banged on the door of a building on the 100 block of Lake Street at 11:33 p.m. Aug. 4.
A 1998 Mercedes Benz that was left unattended running in a garage on the 1000 block of Clarence Avenue with the overhead door open was stolen at 5:20 p.m. Aug. 6, but the car had a flat tire and was found in the alley in the 900 block of South Ridgeland Avenue with the ignition key missing.
A 2003 black Chevrolet Impala stolen Feb. 1 was found at 2:51 p.m. Aug. 6 by Illinois State Police at Interstate 94 and 63rd Street in Chicago.
About $150 in damage was done to the frame and side door of a garage on the 1000 block of Clarence Avenue. Someone tried to pry their way in between 8:30 p.m. Aug. 4 and 6:30 a.m. Aug. 5.
A red, 26-inch Marin mountain bike and a yellow, 26-inch Specialized I-Drive 3.0 mountain bike, worth a total of $3,328, were stolen out of a garage on the 1100 block of South Euclid Avenue. A window pane was removed for entry between 9:30 p.m. Aug. 4 and 5:30 a.m. Aug. 5.
Prescription sunglasses, a cellphone and $8, all totaling $1,008, were stolen Aug. 5out of a vehicle parked behind the 1200 block of Austin Boulevard.
No loss was reported after someone broke the driver's-side window of a vehicle parked behind the 900 block of North Humphrey and ransacked the center console and glove box between 1 and 7:35 a.m. Aug. 5.
A 2013 Volkswagen that was stolen June 21 from Hertz Rental, 400 block of Madison Street in Oak Park, was found at 1:11 p.m. Aug. 2 by Illinois State Police on the 9600 block of Woodlawn Avenue in Chicago.
