For 24 years, the Tribune has capped each high school sports year by honoring a group of students whose excellence extends to both the classroom and fields of play. The 2013-14 Scholar-Athlete Team represents the best in academics and athletics the Chicago area has to offer. Each Scholar-Athlete must be either in the top 10 percent of his or her class or score a 30 on the ACT, be named all-conference in at least one sport and be nominated by his or her school. Some class ranks and GPAs are through seven semesters.
