Rosario Dawson in town for 'Sin City' opening

'A Dame To Kill For' stars share secrets of survival in 'Sin City'

Rosario Dawson and two of her "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" co-stars are coming to the Chicago area for the film's opening weekend.

Dawson, whose credits include "25th Hour" and "Men in Black II," will be at the Hollywood Palms Cinema in Naperville along with fellow cast members Crystal McCahill (a Chicago native and Playboy Playmate) and director Robert Rodriguez's sister Patricia Rodriguez Vonne.

Dawson also appeared in the original 2005 "Sin City," adapted from the neo-noir graphic novels by Frank Miller and set in a fictional town soaked in blood and treachery.

"I thought people just might not get it," Rodriguez told the LA Times of the first movie, which was marked by its pulpy narrative and distinctive look of a comic book brought to life.  (Although as reporter Josh Rottenberg points out in that piece, "the CGI-driven approach that 'Sin City' helped pioneer — inserting actors into digitally fabricated environments — is no longer revolutionary.")

If the sequel does well, Miller and Rodriguez say they will make a third film and possibly a TV spin-off as well.  Go here for the full LA Times story about "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For."
