A Bolingbrook man who tried to meet and pay a Joliet woman for sex Sunday night was instead held up at gunpoint and robbed.
The 25-year-old victim showed up at a residence in the 1300 block of Parkside Drive in Bolingbrook about 10:45 p.m. after arranging to meet 18-year-old Chelsea S. Dean and pay her $85 for sex, according to police Lt. Michael Rompa.
Once inside, Jesus M. Simms, 21, of Bolingbrook, put a gun to the man's head, made him lie down and removed the cash that he brought with him for the encounter, Rompa said.
They then kicked the man out of the residence, according to Rompa.
Dean and Simms then called police and told officers that Dean's ex-boyfriend had entered the house, choked her and threatened her life before leaving, Rompa said.
Police tracked down the man, and it was eventually determined that the man had gone to the residence to meet with Dean through an advertisement before being robbed, according to Rompa.
Officers returned to the Parkside residence and eventually arrested Dean and Simms, he said.
Simms was being held in the Will County jail as of Monday afternoon in lieu of $250,000 bail and is charged with armed robbery, aggravated assault and filing a false police report.
Dean is charged with armed robbery, filing a false report and prostitution, according to Rompa.
Her bail was set Monday at $75,000, according to the Will County sheriff's office website.
The man who was robbed was released without charges, Rompa said.
