I've been hit on, like, maybe twice in my life. So when it happens, I try to savor it.

I didn't know at the time that the book was finished, so I didn't know to celebrate.

I dunno, I really like the "Author's Note," in the front matter of "Brideshead Revisited." It reads: "I am not I; thou art not he or she; they are not they."
