Though the White House isn't saying, many expect President Barack Obama, the first lady and their two daughters to be guests of honor at Saturday's wedding of Laura Jarrett, the daughter of top White House adviser Valerie Jarrett.

On Tuesday, a White House official said the first family will travel to Chicago on Friday night and stay until Sunday — but was mum on whether they would be guests at the Jarrett wedding. The official noted that there are no public events on the Obama schedule in Chicago.

Laura Jarrett and her betrothed, Tony Balkissoon, are 2010 graduates of Harvard Law, the alma mater of both the president and first lady. Two years ago when the Obamas were in Chicago for Memorial Day weekend, they attended a graduation party celebrating Laura Jarrett's diploma from Harvard.

The wedding will take place at the same location as the 2010 party: the Kenwood home of Valerie Jarrett's mother, Barbara Bowman, according to a source.

It promises to be a stylish affair. The 20-something bride already has graced Vogue's best-dressed list (2008) and posed in a chic black Chanel dress for Vanity Fair (2009). Vogue magazine once described her this way: "Gorgeous: a cross between Alicia Keys and Halle Berry."

Laura Jarrett is an alum of the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools and Amherst College. She once clerked for U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer. She's now an associate at Mayer Brown law firm in Chicago in its litigation and dispute resolution practice — but out of the office, according to her email.

The bride's father is the late William Robert Jarrett, a physician and the son of the late newspaper columnist Vernon Jarrett.

Balkissoon, who has a bachelor of applied science degree from the University of Toronto, graduated cum laude from Harvard Law. He is an associate at the Sidley Austin law firm. The firm is where Michelle Obama practiced before being hired by Valerie Jarrett to work for then-Mayor Richard Daley.

The weekend trip home will represent President Obama's 15th stop in Chicago since taking office in 2009.

Daughters Malia, 13, and Sasha, who just turned 11 on Sunday, have been on some of the trips and have ventured into the city without their dad.

The mother of the bride, the bride and the groom did not respond to emails seeking comment about the weekend plans.

But if you're hoping for a last-minute invite to watch the two litigators tie the knot, you should know that the couple are registered at Crate & Barrel andWilliams-Sonoma.
