Smash Mouth, Vertical Horizon to play Last Fling

The Naperville Jaycees are hoping everything Last Fling visitors want includes two 1990s all stars.

Smash Mouth and Vertical Horizon are playing the end of summer festival in downtown Naperville on Aug. 31.

Smash Mouth is best known for hits like "All Star," "Walkin' on the Sun," and "Can't Get Enough of You Baby." They have released multiplatinum albums like "Fush Yu Mang" and "Astro Lounge." In 2012, they put out their latest album, "Magic."

Vertical Horizon's "Everything You Want" album, which was released in 1999, sold more than 2 million copies and the title track made it to the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 list. The group released the album "Echoes From The Underground" last fall.

The bands will perform on the main stage at the base of Rotary Hill. Advance tickets are $15.

Last Fling runs from Aug. 29 to Sept. 1 and also includes performers O.A.R., ARRA, Maggie Speaks, Josh Holmes and Junkyard Groove.

In addition, there will be a carnival, pony rides, family entertainers, bed races, eating contests, sand volleyball tournament, Labor Day parade and more. Proceeds go to nonprofit organizations in Naperville and throughout DuPage County.
