The Downers Grove-based 17U Illinois Wolves finished second in the Chicago Challenge, which drew 48 basketball teams from around the country and more than 200 college coaches to evaluate high school talent July 10-13.
The Wolves were topped by Illinois Net Gain, 58-51, in one of the co-championships played at Riverside-Brookfield High School. The Wolves are coached by the organization's founder, Mike Mullins of Downers Grove. The Wolves travel to Atlanta and Kansas City the next two weekends.
The ET12 Buckeyes also competed in the 16U division and featured Downers Grove South's Denis Alibegovic and Sam Ebersold on the roster.
