STRATFORD — Police have arrested a 32-year-old Brooklyn, N.Y., man who allegedly approached family members of a Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victim after a charity road race held in her memory and told them the shooting was staged as part of a conspiracy.
Matthew Mills approached the family members after the Victoria Soto Charity Run on Nov. 7, then tried to run when officers approached him, police said. He was detained and charged with breach of peace and interfering with a police officer, police said.
Mills was released after posting a $10,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on the charges Nov. 17.
