Violence leaves 3 dead, 5 wounded in separate incidents

Three men were killed and another five injured in attacks between mid-morning Monday and early Tuesday morning across the city, according to police.  The most recent homicide happened in the South Austin neighborhood. A 25-was standing on a front porch in the 400 block of North Lawler Avenue was shot by someone who approached on foot before shooting. The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition and pronounced dead there.  About an hour ealier, a 25-year-old man was shot to death in the 4900 block of South Drexel Boulevard in the Kenwood neighborhood.
