Man Dies After Shooting Near Hartford City Hall, Federal Court

HARTFORD — A man was shot dead late Monday night near city hall and a federal court building, police said. Police received several 911 calls about shots being fired in the area of 52 South Prospect Street just before midnight Monday, police said. When officers arrived, they found a 32 year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper torso, Sgt. William Mooney said. He was pronounced dead by paramedics at 12:34 a.m., he said. Detectives from the Major Crimes and Crime Scene divisions responded have been investigating, Mooney said, reading from a report.
