Zeke Jennings, a former federal prosecutor, became better known for his ability to bridge the chasms among races, cultures, religions and opinions.
A resident of Connecticut during college and law school, Jennings returned to the state to work with police officers, community members, children and their parents in an effort to enhance community relations.
"He had a passion for making sure people were being taken care of, " said Vejay Jackson, his younger half-brother. "He had his mind set on changing the world. He saw a lot of things wrong with the system and he thought you should start with the kids."
