SOUTH WINDSOR — The town council unanimously approved a resolution to allow Vernon police to make non-felony arrests and issue citations in town as a part of an interagency agreement.
The agreement adds Vernon to South Windsor and Manchester's pre-existing agreement from 2008 that allows officers from either town to handle minor crime in town.
"Crime doesn't stop at the town line. … I see the benefit of working with Vernon and I think we should look at extending that," Mayor Thomas Delnicki said. "You guys and gals in the department need the same tools in the toolbox."
