Health departments in the Middletown area are planning a forum on Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases onThursday night in Cromwell.
The event will be held at the Cromwell Town Hall, 41 West St., at 6:30 p.m..
Jennifer Reid, director of the Ridgefield-based BLAST Lyme prevention program, will discuss recent local research on the illness and the nationally recognized program started in 2008.
BLAST stands for “Bathe after outdoor activity, Look for ticks and rashes, Apply repellent, Spray the yard and Treat pets.”
The forum is hosted by the health departments of Middletown, Cromwell, Durham and Middlefield.
