Jon Lender: Alleged Racial Comment Leads To $75K Settlement For Black Police Officer

A black Glastonbury policeman has won a settlement of about $75,000 after complaining that a supervisor used a racial slur when referring to him in 2014 — and that later he was discriminated against to the point where “I began to feel like I was under a microscope” and was disciplined unfairly.

James Partee resigned effective May 31 after five years in the Glastonbury Police Department, under a formal agreement with the town that settled his 2016 discrimination complaint to the state Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities.
