In his bid to get the global online retailer to consider Danbury, Conn. as the location for their second North American headquarters, Mayor Mark Boughton has sent the company a key to the city.
“It’s on. Like Donkey Kong,” Boughton wrote in social media posts accompanying a photograph of him holding a box with a “Amazon+Danbury” graphic printed on the side.
“Here’s a little surprise for our friends at Amazon,” he wrote in a second post, showing a photograph of a key to the city with a plaque that reads “Welcome Home! Key to Amazon HQ2, Danbury, Connecticut.”
