Part of Orland Park Sears being recast as AMC movie theater

Sears, the struggling retailer that once billed itself as “where America shops,” may soon be where Orland Park goes to the movies.

Seritage Growth Properties, a real estate investment trust that owns the Sears property at the Orland Square shopping center and hundreds of other Sears and Kmart stores, announced plans Tuesday to turn a big chunk of the longtime anchor store into a 45,000-square-foot, 10-screen AMC theater.
