Here are the top deals to be found at Chicago grocery stores Jewel-Osco for the week of Jan. 13, with coupon matchups. I don't list every item from the Wednesday grocery ad, only those that are close to their low prices or those that have a good coupon available. My favorite deals this week are the Campbell's tomato soup for 39 cents, and if you didn't get free hummus last week, Athenos brand hummus for $1 a tub after coupon.

If cashiers give you any trouble about coupons at your Jewel store, print out the official corporate coupon policy to carry with you.

(A note about coupons: The coupon inserts I'll refer to here are SmartSource, RedPlum and the P&G Brand Saver, which come in your Sunday paper. Avid couponers save their Sunday inserts, so they can go back and clip the necessary coupons when a sale comes up. I'll tell you the date the coupon appeared, and if you still have your inserts, you can dig them out and clip it. I'll also tell you where to find printable coupons online. For more coupon tips, see my post on how to maximize coupon savings.)
