Alan Nowaczyk, village president of Willow Springs, has been named to the Pace board of directors by the suburban caucus of the Cook County board.
Nowaczyk replaces Richard Pellegrino, former president of Indian Head Park, who resigned from the board in late 2010 to pursue new opportunities, according to a statement Friday from Pace.
Nowaczyk will serve the remainder of Pellegrino’s term, which expires June 30, 2013. He is scheduled to participate in the upcoming Pace board meeting on March 2, Pace said.
“We look forward to working with President Nowaczyk and gaining from the experience and perspective he brings,” Pace Chairman Richard Kwasneski said in the statement.
By law, the Pace board is comprised of the chairman; one member each from Lake, McHenry, DuPage, Kane, and Will counties; six members selected regionally from Cook County; and the commissioner of the Mayor’s Office for People With Disabilities who represents Chicago, where Pace operates ADA paratransit service.
With the exception of the disabilities office commissioner, all Pace board members serve a four-year term and must be either mayors or former mayors.
