Patrick Gurschke was riding a skateboard across the intersection of Monroe and Maple avenues in Brookfield about 3:35 p.m. when a 2004 Acura TL southbound on Maple hit him, according to Brookfield Police Officer Rafael Alvarado and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Brookfield paramedics took Gurschke, who lived nearby in the 3800 block of Madison Avenue in Brookfield, to Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, where he was pronounced dead at 4:12 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
The motorist had the right of way, according to Alvarado.
“There’s a stop sign for east and westbound traffic,’’ Alvarado said.
The motorist, a man, stayed on the scene and is being questioned tonight, but no charges have been filed or citations written, said the officer.
The posted speed limit is 30 mph, and no other injuries were reported.
An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday for Gurschke.
