A 15-year-old ROTC student who was missing from the Galewood neighborhood has been located, according to Chicago police.

The girl, Jazmine Rivera, was last seen about 7:30 a.m. Thursday at her home in the 2000 block of North Newland Avenue, police said. She was reported missing Thursday night.

Rivera is usually home by 6:30 p.m., police said in a release early Friday morning.

Friday about 6:30 p.m. police issued a short statement saying Jazmine had been located. No other information was released.

Earlier, police had said Rivera was last seen in a gray hoody and gray jeans carrying a navy blue backpack.

The girl is 5-foot-2, about 150 pounds, has brown hair and eyes and light skin.

Rivera attends a local public school but police didn't specify which.

This is Rivera's first time missing, said police, who were asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to call Area North detectives at 312-744-8266.
