A shooting in the Gresham neighborhood Monday night left a 33-year-old man in critical condition, police said.

About 8:15 p.m., police rushed to the 7500 block of South Carpenter Street after a report of a person shot, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

Officers found the man lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the face, neck, chest and arms, Alfaro said.

The man was rushed to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in critical condition.
