Man jumps to death after cops respond to pot complaint
A man jumped to his death after police responded to a complaint of a person smoking marijuana in his 7th floor Uptown apartment, authorities said.

The man was dead on the scene this morning in the 4500 block of North Clarendon Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
 
Officers responded to complaints around 10:25 a.m. that someone was smoking marijuana at a 7th floor apartment at the Clarendon address, police said.

Officers knocked on the man's door and, after forcing their way in, found the man lying on the roof of a garage outside his apartment. A small amount of cannabis was found inside, police said.
