Barrington motorcycle crash kills west suburban man

A 19-year-old man died after the motorcycle he was riding crashed this afternoon in northwest suburban Barrington, authorities said.

Joseph Masino, of the 9200 block of Primrose Court, was pronounced dead at 3:39 p.m. at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital following the crash at Northwest Highway and Hart Road this afternoon, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Emergency crews were called to Hart Road and Northwest Highway at 1:38 p.m. after the motorcycle crashed there, and found the man seriously injured, Barrington police said in a news release.

The man was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital for treatment, but he was pronounced dead at 3:36 p.m., according to police.

Barrington police and the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are investigating the accident.

An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday to determine Masino's cause of death.
