A Mount Prospect man was ordered held in lieu of $100,000 bail on Sunday after he allegedly stabbed his older brother with a steak knife in Mount Prospect, authorities said.
Police said Robert Jastrebski, 55, twice stabbed his 59-year-old brother in the abdomen on Saturday at Jastrebski’s home on the 100 block of Audrey Lane. Jastrebski was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.
After the attack, the older brother ran to his car and called police.
Jastrebski swerved his vehicle into his brother’s car before fleeing, prosecutors added.
It was unclear what led to the attack.
Jastrebski, a certified public accountant, was also ordered to stay away from his brother’s home and work. His next court date is July 2.
