A man wanted on charges of stabbing two of his brothers-in-law outside an Oak Lawn hospital has been arrested in Michigan, police said today.
Kamal Yasin, 32, was arrested about 8 p.m. Sunday in Dearborn, Mich., and is expected to appear before a Michigan judge on Tuesday to face extradition to Illinois in the stabbings Saturday night outside Advocate Christ Medical Center, police said in a news release.
Police were called to the hospital in the 9400 block of South Kilbourn Avenue in Oak Lawn about 11:35 p.m. Saturday and found that two brothers, one age 30 from Burbank, the other, age 20, from Chicago Ridge, had been stabbed.
The stabbing happened after a dispute that started at another family member’s home earlier in the evening, and escalated at the hospital after Kamal followed the two brothers there when they went to visit a relative, police said.
After the attack, Yasin fled in a red Mercedes-Benz.
The older brother was stabbed in the head and torso and the younger brother in the face and back, and were hospitalized at Christ Medical Center in serious condition following the stabbing, police said Sunday.Today, a judge approved a warrant charging Yasin with aggravated battery and carrying a $50,000 bond, police said.
