Malkovich to headline 'World Theatre Day'

Steppenwolf Theatre Company ensemble member John Malkovich will give the "international message" on World Theatre Day, March 22, in Paris.  This will be the 50th anniversary of the event, run by the International Theatre Institute and designed to promote international cultural exchange. Malkovich's words of wisdom subsequently will be translated into 20 languages. The address, part of a UNESCO gala in Paris, will include play readings and other events.

Previous honorees include Arthur Miller (1963), the late Vaclav Havel (1994) and Dame Judy Dench (2010).
