A Loop bank branch was robbed shortly before midday today and the bank robber made off with cash, police said.

The Citibank branch on the 100 block of South Michigan Avenue was robbed at about 11:50 a.m., said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

A man walked into the branch and implied that he had a weapon and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

No one was injured in the incident, Sullivan said.

The man is described as black, between 40 and 45 years old, about 5 feet 6 inches tall and was last seen wearing a dark hat, black jacket and carrying a black messenger bag.
