As Presidents Day is approaching, we are starting to see commercials featuring George Washington and Abraham Lincoln as spokesmen. One of these men was our first president and father of our country. The other is considered the greatest president in history, not to mention he was killed in office, which was a profoundly sad event in American history.
So, then, why are advertisers finding the need to have these men dancing around or rapping and turning these men into complete buffoons? Can we expect in 20-30 years to see a dancing Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. for a Martin Luther King birthday sale? Or former President John F. Kennedy dancing and singing for a sale celebrating his birthday?
Come on advertisers. How about a little respect for these men and the office of president?
