Lawsuit blames driver, bar in fatal crash
Judy Feil alleges that Sam Cafi was negligent on March 10 when he drove while intoxicated, getting into a car crash which resulted in the death of her son Ryan Osowski, 28, of Darien, according to the lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court.
The lawsuit also names Trio Sports Bar & Grill LLC as a defendant. No one was available for comment at the bar.
Cafi was traveling west on 95th Street at a high speed when his car hit a vehicle traveling south on La Grange Road, causing it to flip several times and stop in the westbound lanes of 95th Street, authorities said.
Osowski was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Police charged Sam Cafi, 28, of Justice, with several counts of felony driving under the influence.
Feil is seeking a judgment of more than $50,000.
