A Chicago man died after being hit by a car just after 8 p.m. Thursday on Chicago’s Northwest Side, police said.
The man, identified as 47-year-old Andrzej Papiez of the 3500 block of North Osceola Avenue, was pronounced dead at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital at 8:37 p.m., a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office said this morning.
The driver, 22-year-old Patrick Nagonski of Schiller Park, was cited for driving too fast for conditions and driving on a suspended license, police said.
Papiez was crossing the street in the 7100 block of West Addison Street when he was struck by a westbound vehicle, police said.
No other charges were filed, police said, and the Chicago Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Unit is investigating the accident.
