Chicago police said that a masked gunman held up a South Side pizza restaurant Saturday night nearly two hours before its scheduled closing hours.
No injuries were reported for the holdup at the Pizza Hut restaurant near the intersection of 89th Street and South Stony Island Avenue in the Calumet Heights neighborhood on Saturday night.
The gunman, described as a man in his 20s wearing a camouflage ski mask and hooded sweatshirt, walked into the restaurant about 10:30 p.m., pulled a handgun and announced the robbery, demanding money from the cashier, police said.
The robber fled the store with an unknown amount of cash, police said. Authorities couldn't say how many customers were inside at the time of the robbery.
No arrests had been made as of this morning.
