Cops investigate 8 torched cars in Wrigleyville

Chicago police are continuing to investigate a series of arson fires that destroyed eight vehicles in the Wrigleyville neighborhood on Tuesday, officials said today.

The vehicles were set on fire on the 3500 block of North Wilton Avenue and the flames extended to a canopy over the cars, officials said.

Police responded to the incidents at 4:11 a.m. Tuesday, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

The vehicles were in an alley. No injuries were reported.

The Chicago Police Arson Unit is investigating. No one was in custody police said today.
