About 3:25 a.m. Thursday, a 24-year-old woman was shot in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.

A woman was shot in the head in the Humboldt Park neighborhood this evening, police said.

The woman, 45, was shot in the 900 block of North Pulaski Road about 8:25 p.m., said Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala.

The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition, Zala said.

A second person, a man whose age wasn't available, was shot and walked into an area emergency room with a wound from a small-caliber handgun to his face.

The man told police he had been shot at Chicago and Monticello avenues but police believe he was wounded in the same incident.

About 3:25 a.m. Thursday, a 24-year-old woman was shot in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side.

She was driving east on the 1200 block of West Lawrence Avenue with two men when someone fired toward the car, hitting the woman in the right bicep, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

One of the passengers then drove her to Weiss Hospital, where she's listed in good condition, Alfaro said.
