• Police continue to investigate the deaths of two men discovered inside a white Camaro in the West Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. Officers were conducting a well-being check in the 7100 block of South Oakley Avenue around 3:20 p.m. Wednesday when they found one of the men in the back seat of the two-door Camaro and the other man in the trunk, according to Police News Affairs Officer Dan O'Brien, citing preliminary information. Four people were injured when a car going north in the Chicago Skyway's southbound lanes hit a pickup truck, police said. The accident happened about 5:05 a.m. in the outbound lanes near 84th Street, blocking all but the emergency lane of the southbound roadway, said Police News Affairs Officer John Mirabelli. Read more
One woman was injured in an extra-alarm fire on the West Side early Thursday morning. She was brought from the scene of the fire, in the 1400 block of South Kenneth Avenue in the Lawndale neighborhood, to Loretto Hospital with complications from asthma, fire department spokesman Will Knight said.
