• A man was shot and wounded when two men broke into his Orland Park home early this morning, police said. Police received a 911 call about a shooting in the 10900 block of Antelope Lane in Orland Park around 2:50 a.m., authorities said. Read more

• A man was wounded in the Marquette Park early Friday morning, the sixth person shot in the Southwest Side neighborhood since 6 p.m. Wednesday, according to police. The man, in his 20s, was shot in both legs around 6:15 a.m. in the 6900 block of South Maplewood Avenue, police said. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital and was stable, police said. Read more

• Authorities found a dead dog and several others that were emaciated when they evicted a Harvey man Thursday. The dead dog was found in the basement of the house in the 0-100 block of West 151st Street in the south suburb, and another dog could not walk because of a leg injury, the Cook County sheriff's office said.
