• Officers used pepper spray to subdue a drunken man who had been fighting outside a Gold Coast hotel this morning, police said. The officers were called to the hotel in the 200 block of East Walton Street around midnight and learned that Zachary C. Rayno, 19, had punched another man in the face, police said. Read more

A man was arrested after stealing a semi trailer and leading police on a chase through the West Side and down the Eisenhower Expressway this morning, police said. Officers got a call around 3:50 a.m. that someone had hitched a truck cab to a trailer in the 4600 block of West Flournoy Street and driven away, police said. Read more


A South Side man has been charged after he lost control of his car during a police chase overnight and landed in the backyard of a home in the South Chicago neighborhood, police said. Fabias Shipman, Jr., 25, of the 8200 block of of South Marquette Avenue, and two others in the car were injured. A police officer also suffered a minor injury during the chase, Police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said. Read more
