Chef Kevin Hickey announced that he will depart the Four Seasons Hotel on Oct. 1.
"I am embarking on an exciting new chapter in both my career and my life," the chef said via an e-mailed press release.
The chef, who oversaw the Four Season's fine dining room, Seasons, for many years and created the more-casual Allium restaurant last year, is working with Rockit Ranch Productions to create a new restaurant at 441 N. Clark St. (the site of Rockit's short-lived Dragon Ranch Moonshine & BBQ). The unnamed restaurant will open this fall, Hickey said.
Hickey said he also will open The Duck Inn, a restaurant and bar in Bridgeport, in spring of 2014.
"These are the first of what I hope to be many new ventures," said Hickey, "as I begin a new life of entrepreneurialism and independent restaurants."
