'Inside Llewyn Davis'
To be released by CBS Films (December).
A festival favorite, the Coen brothers' latest, set in 1961, follows a Greenwich Village folkie (Oscar Isaac) following a cat (he's supposed to be taking care of it; it keeps getting away) and his own hazy dreams of showbiz success. The movie killed at Cannes -- and the American crop this year was better than average, overall -- though I wonder if U.S. response to this midlevel Coen success won't be a little cooler. Wonderful scenes, though, most of them musical.
