Motorcyclist injured in Bucktown hit-and-run

A 28-year-old man was injured when a car turned in front of his motorcycle and the motorcycle crashed, police said.

Police initially said the man was dead but later said he was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in stable condition.

The crash happened about 1:10 a.m. at the intersection of Western and Milwaukee avenues in the city's Bucktown neighborhood.

Police said a northbound motorcycle was going through the intersection when a southbound dark truck tried to make a left turn and the motorcycle hit the car.

The truck and its driver fled the scene, police said. No one is in custody.
