A 34-year-old Alsip man on a motorcycle died last night after a crash in Oak Forest.
A man identified by the Cook County medical examiner’s office as Matteo Manueli was northbound on Oak Park Avenue approaching a curve at 147th Street about 8:45 p.m. when he apparently lost control and crashed, said Oak Forest Police Lt. John Koschnitzky. The motorcyclist was thrown from the 2003 Harley Davidson and died of his injuries, Koschnitzky said.
Manueli, 34, of the 12600 block of South Alpine Drive, was taken to Palos Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:20 p.m., according to the medical examiner’s office.
Weather conditions were clear and the wreck occurred in an area that is predominantly a forest preserve.
It was not known how fast he was going or if drugs or alcohol were factors.
“It’s tragic and a shame,’’ said the lieutenant of the incident.
