One man was killed and another wounded when a gunman walked up and opened fire in the South Chicago neighborhood, authorities said.

The men were on the street in  the 8000 block of South Manistee Avenue when they were shot around 6 p.m., police said.

D'Angelo Simmons, 22, was pronounced dead at 7:04 p.m. at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office, which listed Simmons' home address as the 8000 block of South Manistee. He had been shot in the head.

The other man, 18, was shot in the ankle.

No arrests have been made and police said a motive was not clear.
