Two children and one adult were seriously injured today after being hit by a car on the Southwest Side in the city's Chicago Lawn neighborhood, officials said.
The accident happened on the 6000 block of South Western Avenue, according to Fire Media information. The three were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious-to-critical condition, officials said.
Preliminary information from police said shortly before noon, three teens were struck by a vehicle that was exiting a parking lot on Western Avenue, said Police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.
The ages of the victims was not available, but Sullivan said the victims were believed to be teens who were taking to Christ Medical Center as a precaution, citing preliminary information.
