A brigade of cruise ships is bearing down on South Florida.
The peak cruise season has begun, and ships are returning from summers in Europe, the Mediterranean, Alaska and other regions. From now through April, they will take on troops of tourists that could be even larger than in years past.
At Port Everglades, for example, two cruise ships will be departing from the port for the first time this season, each sailing for multiple nights with more than 5,000 passengers between them.
