3/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup flour 3/4 cup chopped nuts; pecans preferred 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted, plus more for pan 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon vanilla 2 cups mashed sweet potatoes 1 large egg, well beaten 1 Butter a 6-by-10-inch ovenproof casserole dish, set aside. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Using a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, nuts and ¼ cup butter, set aside. 2 Using a medium bowl, combine remaining ¼ cup butter, sugar, salt, vanilla, sweet potatoes and egg.
