Chicago and Illinois will have plenty of competition in their efforts to land Amazon’s planned second headquarters.
According to Amazon, 238 cities and regions in 54 states, provinces, districts and territories in North America decided to throw their hats in the ring.
Proposals from cities hoping to be Amazon’s second home were due Thursday. That’s about six weeks after Amazon prompted cities large and small to begin plotting ways to woo the Seattle-based company and the $5 billion investment it said it plans to make in the headquarters project.
