GLASTONBURY — A man who police said pawned $57,000 worth of silver was charged with theft Thursday, police said.
Gregory Riach, 23, of Chimney Sweep Hill Road was charged with first-degree larceny, police said. He was arraigned Friday in Superior Court in Manchester, where his next court date was scheduled for Aug. 26.
Riach's bail was set at $100,000, which he posted, a court spokeswoman said.
According to police, the owner of a home Riach had been renting discovered in June that several pieces of silver — which were family heirlooms — were missing.
