Cubs vendors enjoying bonus baseball, extra money

For more than 40 years, Howard Spiegel has climbed the stairs at Wrigley Field hawking his wares, a remarkable stretch that he more or less shrugs off.

From his perch in the right field upper deck, Spiegel, 62, sold Goose Island beers from the crate hanging around his neck during Monday night's playoff game between the Chicago Cubs and the St. Louis Cardinals. Some vendors rush and scurry; his approach was more methodical. When Cubs owner Tom Ricketts walked past and high-fived fans directly above Spiegel, the beer man merely ducked his head and continued to count out exact change.
